Community Engagement
Saints Tennis are passionate about developing tennis within the local St Andrews area. We run programmes to help students, children, and the wider community to be active and get involved in the game.
JUNIOR SAINTS: our coaches deliver activity to primary school children all-year round. We offer weekly coaching (Red and Orange Ball) and dedicated camps through the Easter and Summer holidays.
CARDIO TENNIS: is a weekly fitness class open to all students, staff, and the community. This fun group activity is suitable for any playing level and provides an alternative way to burn calories outside of the gym.
LOCAL CLUB: Saints Tennis have a strong relationship with the St Andrews Community Tennis Club. Through the link, students in lower squads gain access to friendly weekend matches. In return, the best juniors at the club get support for hitting sessions through a “buddy” system. This helps to develop local talent and gives our students valuable leadership skills.
CLUB COACHING: Local clubs can benefit from the University’s programme through block coaching sessions, delivered by Saints Sport coaches.
ADULT COACHING: We run weekly lessons for adult beginner, intermediate and advanced groups. Sessions run in 8 week blocks and cover all aspects of technique and tactical match play.
COUNTY/DISTRICT: Saints Tennis enjoys strong links with leading coaches in the area. Talented players identified within the county and district enjoy access to the Tennis Centre. They also act as hitters to support our performance player development.
