The Women’s 1st team were shortlisted for Team of the Year by Saints Sports this month. The other two teams shortlisted were Women’s Football and Women’s Boat. Due to Covid-19, Saints Sports ran a “Virtual Awards” and was run online and showcased many athletes and teams who performed extremely well over the year.

This season, the Women’s Tennis 1st finished 3rd in North Premier which is the highest ever finish of a Saints Tennis team. The women all committed fully to the programme and the travel involved in Premier and this resulted in very positive improvement and development in their tennis.

Beth Laybourne, Birgit Burk, Matilde Piras, Simone Jensen and Sandy Martinovics played in the vast majority of the matches with Abbie Schliechkorn and Megan Pollick stepping in for one of the matches.

The level of commitment from the 1st team led to the whole squad progressing well and having very strong seasons.

Here are some of the highlights from the BUCS matches this season. Women’s Highlights

Congratulations to the squad for their efforts over the season.

And well done to Women’s Football who won Team of the Year and to all the other teams who had impressive seasons.
